Nana Muru Mobile Day Rehabilitation and Withdrawal Service

Lives Lived Well (LLW), a specialist provider of alcohol and drug treatment and support services in NSW and QLD, have partnered with Watershed, a leading Wollongong-based alcohol and other drugs treatment service, to deliver Nana Muru (Better Road) Mobile Day Rehabilitation and Withdrawal Service.

What is Nana Muru?

Nana Muru is a free drug and alcohol withdrawal management and rehabilitation service open to any person aged over 18 years, with a drug or alcohol concern. Nana Muru is a culturally appropriate and evidence-based, providing:

  • GP led ambulatory withdrawal support/detox – for low to moderate risk clients
  • A non-residential rehabilitation day program  includes individual counselling / case management sessions for assessment, treatment and relapse prevention planning
  • Aftercare relapse prevention groups  for those who have completed the day program and want to stay connected to their recovery
  • Community Engagement Officer  provides practical support for clients
  • Specialist medical and clinical support overseen by our Addiction Medicine Specialist, Dr Graeme Judson will build the capacity of local GPs via education, mentoring and case conferencing.

Who is eligible?

Any person aged over 18 years with a drug or alcohol concern can be referred to Nana Muru. However, people requiring residential hospital based detox are excluded.

How do I get in touch?

Nana Muru is located at 78 Bridge Rd, Nowra NSW 2541 as well as communities surrounding Jervis Bay, St Georges Basin and Sanctuary Point.
