People with diabetes have a higher risk of morbidity and mortality from infection with COVID-19 and influenza. General practitioners play an essential role during this period to support this patient population. The RACGP recommends proactive support for people with diabetes during COVID-19, to reduce patient risk of developing intercurrent illness.
