NAIDOC Week 2022 - Get Up! Stand Up! Show Up!

NAIDOC 2022 (3-10 July) invites everyone to join in local celebrations and embrace this year's theme - Get Up! Stand Up! Show Up!
NAIDOC Week celebrations are set to take place across Australia from 3-10 July, embodying this year's theme - Get Up! Stand Up! Show Up!
This year the National NAIDOC Committee is calling for everyone to "Get Up! Stand Up! Show Up! for systemic change and to keep rallying around our mob, our Elders, and our communities."
Each year NAIDOC week grows in size and depth of celebrations. A list of some of the events happening throughout South Eastern NSW and the ACT can be found below.

The community event will feature live music and dance, free sausage sizzle, cultural experiences, Koori games, craft workshops, art exhibitions and more. Gumaraa, will also be joining us for the event. Gumaraa is an an Aboriginal cultural experience and education company that delivers authentic Indigenous experiences for all, based on the traditions of the Dharawal and Yuin Nation. Eurobodalla NAIDOC Week flag-raising ceremony 4 July |
Join the local community for the Aboriginal Flag-raising ceremony to acknowledge the local Aboriginal community and celebrate the commencement of NAIDOC Week 2022. Aunty Trish Ellis, the Chair of the Aboriginal Advisory Committee, will deliver the official Welcome to Country before Muladha Gamara conducts the smoking ceremony and traditional dance. The Deputy Mayor, Councillor Alison Worthington, will then give a brief speech followed by the flag-raising ceremony. You can then join us for morning tea in the chambers. Johnny Huckle - Wombat Wobble Show 1 July |
As part of NAIDOC Week, award-winning singer-songwriter Johnny Huckle will perform his show, the Wombat Wobble. This performance is music, fun and storytelling for little people. Recommended for ages 3-6. Johnny is a descendant of the Wiradjuri Nation, born in Condobolin and raised on the ‘Murie’ Aboriginal reserve. Find out more here. The ACT Community Sector invites you to join them at their eighth annual NAIDOC Week Event, celebrating the history and culture of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. There will be a welcome to country and smoking ceremony, to open the event. Culture on the move - bush animal weaving workshops

Come and join Ronnie Jordan a Kalkadoon Pitta Pitta woman who will share her traditional ecological knowledge with you. Enjoy a hands-on experience where you and your child can each create a woven bush animal.
