St Vincent’s Pain Management team visits South Eastern NSW

SC 0054

St Vincent’s Pain Management team regularly bring their expertise to the region to update pain management knowledge and skills.

This year, the Pain Management team from St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney (SVHS) resume their visit schedule to Southern NSW after a hiatus during the COVID 19 restrictions of 2020.

The team regularly brings their expertise to the region to update local health professionals' pain management knowledge and skills and provide clinical consultations with community members.

Earlier this year, the team visited the Eurobodalla, running several local events including a face-to-face patient clinic at Katungul and another local GP practice; a workshop for GPs and allied health practitioners and the ‘Yarnup about Pain’ event on Closing the Gap Day.

The Yarnup about Pain event involved local Aboriginal Health services and community members yarning with the team about chronic pain, pain management and ways to help improve access of the community to the Telehealth services provided by St Vincent’s to the area.

The Pain Management team will continue their tour of Southern NSW by visiting the Goulburn and Yass region between the 13-14 of May. Events planned for this visit include:

  • dinner with GPs and allied health professionals at the Goulburn Mercure (13 May).
  • lunch with GPs and allied health professionals in Yass (14 May).
  • full-day workshop for GPs and allied health professionals at the Goulburn Mercure (15 May).

Other opportunities to meet with community members and health professionals in the Goulburn and Yass region will be added to the team's itinerary over the coming weeks.

Later in the year, the team will visit the Far South Coast in July and then the Snowy Mountains area in late October to deliver educational events for health professionals and community members and hold consultations with patients. You can stay up to date with upcoming events by visiting COORDINARE's events portal.
