Purpose of the review
The Australian Government is reforming the Drug and Alcohol Program, which currently funds COORDINARE’s commissioned Alcohol and other Drugs (AOD) services across South Eastern NSW. The future program will be organised around four pillars:
This creates an opportunity for COORDINARE to review commissioned AOD services and consider how best to respond to the new Drug and Alcohol program, while ensuring services continue to reflect local needs.
How are we approaching the review
We are building on existing evidence and consultation findings wherever possible. This approach will help us make best use of what people and organisations have already told us and focus any new engagement on areas where further information is needed.
As the review progresses, COORDINARE will undertake targeted engagement to explore particular issues, experiences or evidence gaps.
The review will take place from September 2026 and any changes to commissioned services as a result of the review will be communicated from early 2027.
Have your say
COORDINARE is inviting AOD providers, health and community organisations, and other interested stakeholders to contribute to our 2026 AOD review consultation.
The consultation paper shares findings and service mapping gathered through the review so far and seeks feedback on regional AOD needs and service gaps, the current service system, provider and workforce capacity, and priorities for future planning.
You are welcome to respond only to the questions relevant to you or your organisation. Organisations that would prefer to provide feedback through a conversation can also request a one-to-one discussion.
