Katungul Aboriginal Corporation will bring its mobile dental and outreach vans to the Moruya, Bermagui, Bega and Eden Convoy days. The dental bus will have dental screening, preventative oral health education, free dental care products and referrals.

Katungul’s nurses on board its outreach van will be on hand with immunisation information, health checks and promotion, vaccination information, help with finding local services and social and emotional wellbeing activities.

The Walkabout Barber and Walkabout Beautiful bus is fitted out as a mobile salon offering professional barbering, hairdressing and beauty appointments. The bus is a safe, welcoming space for people to open up about mental health. 

Led by proud Gamilaraay man and former NRL player Brian Dowd, it provides free barbering, hairdressing and beauty services, alongside trauma-informed mental health support in culturally safe, community-based settings.

Medibank's SulliVAN van can help you understand, track and improve your health, including your heart health and diabetes risk. 

On board is a self-serve Health Station, an accurate and certified medical device. Easily check your blood pressure, heart rate, body fat percentage, body mass index and weight. Results will be immediately available along with personalised health recommendations.

Directions Health’s Rural Outreach Bus, affectionately known as ‘ROB’ will provide a relaxed and comfortable setting to chat. There will be games (including Nintendo Switch), and free slushies, coffee and toasted sandwiches.

Directions Health delivers harm reduction focused programs and services to people impacted by alcohol and other drugs.

Nicotine Replacement Therapy and Dried Blood Spot Testing will be available for eligible community members. 

Skin Check Champions’ Silver Bullet will offer free full-body skin checks on the Silver Bullet with capability to scan an entire body in minutes, identify high-risk lesions immediately, share results securely with specialists. The team will refer you to local providers or provide follow-up support and offer to train local health workers to continue care. 

A general practitioner with additional qualifications in skin cancer detection and surgical management Dr Michelle McGrath will also assist with skin checks. 

Dr McGrath is passionate about improving patients access for adequate skin cancer detection and management and also assisting with general skin condition diagnoses and treatment from the normal ageing skin to specific skin conditions. 

Q. Do I need to be Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander to access the Katungul services or Walkabout Barber bus? 

A. All services are open to everyone. 

Q. What happens when a health issue is detected? 

A. If health issues are detected, community members will be referred to their GP or usual health service. 

Q. Do I need to book my spot? 

A. Walk ins are welcome and bookings are not required. Services will be offered on a first come, first served basis.
