What are Medicare Urgent Care Clinics?

Bulk billed, walk-in care for injuries and illnesses that are urgent, but not life-threatening.

Medicare UCCs give you more options to see a medical professional when you have an injury or illness that can't wait for a regular GP appointment, but is not life-threatening. This includes conditions like minor broken bones, sprains, respiratory illnesses, mild burns, severe stomach pain, and urinary tract infection (UTI). Learn more here.

There are seven Medicare UCCs in South Eastern NSW, including Batemans Bay, Bega, Dapto, Nowra, Queanbeyan, Shellharbour and Wollongong.

Key information about Medicare UCCs:

  • Open early and late, 7 days a week including public holidays.

  • Walk-in, so you don't need an appointment or referral.

  • Located in existing health settings, staffed by doctors and nurses.

  • All services are free (bulk billed) and confidential.
