COORDINARE appoints new Medical Director

Lakeside Practice Medical Practice GP, Dr Katherine Michelmore has been appointed COORDINARE’s Medical Director.
Dianne Kitcher, CEO of COORDINARE said, “We’re delighted Katherine has joined our team, having worked together in her capacity as a GP Cluster Leader and as a member of the Illawarra Shoalhaven Clinical Council since 2016.”
"Katherine has a keen interest in improving access and quality of healthcare. As a member of the Executive, she will contribute to COORDINARE’s direction and strategy, and provide high level expert advice on all clinical governance issues.”
Dr Michelmore has been a GP Cluster Leader for COORDINARE and a member of the Illawarra Shoalhaven Clinical Council since 2016 and is an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Wollongong.
Since 2011 Dr Michelmore has worked at Lakeside Practice in Warilla, a busy group practice which serves a broad demographic of patients. She has also worked as a general practitioner in both the UK and Bermuda, and as the Employee Health Physician for the Bermuda Hospitals Board.
In Bermuda she contributed to the Bermuda Hospitals Board CME programme, Department of Health initiatives and worked with the Bermuda Health Council. She was also involved in politics and served a term as the Shadow Health Minister in the Bermuda Parliament.
Dr Michelmore graduated from the University of Newcastle, UK and attended the University of Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar where she completed a DPhil with the Division of Public Health and Primary Health Care.
Dr Michelmore will commence in the Medical Director role on 4 October 2022.
