Coordinating care through innovation: an interview with Dianne Kitcher
3 June 2020
Innovation is the key to improving health outcomes of our community. COORDINARE finds innovative ways to coordinate care across our region and beyond, seeking to improve health outcomes for our community, particularly those most in need.
Dianne Kitcher, CEO of COORDINARE, spoke to the University of Wollongong (UOW) Innovation Campus about the importance of collaboration and innovation while supporting vulnerable communities through bushfires, drought, and now COVID-19.
2020 has been a tough year for so many across the Illawarra and South Coast, and COORDINARE has been there every step of the way. The team has been leading the coordinated primary mental health care response to bushfires and drought, funding much needed counselling and support services in impacted communities, as well as facilitating a community grants program to help strengthen community connectedness, build on resilience, and promote help seeking.
In the interview, Dianne Kitcher talks about how COORDINARE continues to work with partners across our region to ensure our community members receive the right care in the right place at the right time as the challenges ramped up with the onset of COVID-19.
