    PANDA trial

Cardiometabolic diseases are among the most commonly managed conditions in primary care, affecting around a quarter of Australians 45+. Physical activity, including walking, aerobic and resistance training, is key. However, current physical activity prescriptions and programs can be undermined by low uptake and adherence.

The Physical Activity in Nature for Cardiometabolic Diseases in People Aged 45+ (PANDA) trial is seeking volunteers to take part in a focus group interview about your experiences of nearby natural settings and their capacity, opportunity and motivation to spend time there and reflect on barriers and potential remedies.

What’s my rebate? Assessing Australian’s understandings of Medicare rebate

Researchers from Deakin University are conducting a study on patient experiences with Medicare and their local GP. The research project is an anonymous survey of questions that patients can access via a QR code on a poster placed in GP clinic waiting rooms. Patient participation is voluntary and clinicians/staff will not need to assist with patient participation recruitment. You can read more information and access consent forms here.

    PaRIS Health Survey

General practices are invited to participate in the national rollout of the Patient-Reported Indicator Survey (PaRIS), now underway. For the first time, patients across the world with a chronic health issue are being asked to share their experiences so healthcare providers can better understand their needs. The OECD-led PaRIS Health Survey will strengthen the measurement of outcomes and experiences of primary care services for people living with chronic conditions. Nearly half of all Australians (46.6%) have one or more chronic conditions, and almost one in five (18.6%) have two or more chronic conditions. In Australia, the Australian Commission for Safety and Quality in Health Care is working with ORIMA Research to implement the PaRIS Survey, on behalf of the Department of Health and Aged Care.
